　　嘉嘉收到的指甲油颜色是萤光红色。说真的，solid color指甲油质感厚实，色彩夺目，而红色又是非常经典的颜色，常常和性感、热情联系在一起。所以啊，嘉嘉自己肯定不会买这个颜色。

　　The nail polish i received was a neon red shade.

　　I love red, yellow, orange, neon color. They are awesome color to ......... wear. But when it comes to nail polish color, I am a little doubtful.

　　童鞋们觉得这个颜色如何呢？嘉嘉觉得bloop这个萤光红色还不错，珠光效果不是很强，干掉后有雾面感觉的质感。不过这个颜色比较适合去夜店，或较摇滚的打扮，如果涂这颜色指甲油，千万别穿些较女性化的裙子喔。

　　如果你不太喜欢雾面的感觉，而家里的雾面指甲油（别人送的，不小心买的，买了又不喜欢的。。。。。。反正女人衣柜里总有几件买了又不喜欢的衣服，化妆台里总有几件买了又不喜欢的彩妆。。。）又不知道怎么处理，没关系，就来简单的美甲DIY吧！

　　If you don't like matte look, never mind, we just do a simple nail art. All you need is glitter powder and a transparent topcoat.

　　1. 先上一层指甲油。Add a layer of nail polish.

　　2. 趁指甲油还没完全干时，用手或刷子铺些亮粉在上面。Use finger or brush to apply glitter powder over your nail polish while it is still wet.

　　3. 最后上一层透明的topcoat 即可。Cover with topcoat to seal the glitter powder.

　　是不是很有节日feel呢

　　如果没有美甲亮粉，也不用特地去买，可以用家里的珠光眼影粉。或者直接上一层有亮粉的透明指甲油。

　　You can use glitter eyeshadow, or just apply a layer of clear glitter nail polish. Then you can change to party look quickly.

The Fern and the Bamboo

One day i decided to quit

I quit my job,
my relationship,
my spirituality…
I wanted to quit my life.
I went to the woods to have one last talk with god.

"God", I asked,
"Can you give me one good reason not to quit?".

His answer surprised me…
"Look around", He said. "Do you see the fern and the bamboo?"

"Yes", I replied.

"When I planted the fern and the bamboo seeds, I took very good care of them.
I gave them light. I gave them water. The fern quickly grew from the earth.
Its brilliant green covered the floor. Yet nothing came from the bamboo seed. But I did not quit on the bamboo.

In the second year the fern grew more vibrant and plentiful.
And again, nothing came from the bamboo seed. But I did not quit on the bamboo." He said,

"In year three there was still nothing from the bamboo seed. But I would not quit.

In year four, again, there was nothing from the bamboo seed. I would not quit." He said.

"Then in the fifth year a tiny sprout emerged from the earth. Compared to the fern it was seemingly small and insignificant…But just 6 months later the bamboo rose to over 100 feet tall.

It had spent the five years growing roots. Those roots made it strong and gave it what it needed to survive.

I would not give any of my creations a challenge it could not handle."

He asked me. "Did you know, my child, that all this time you have been struggling, you have actually been growing roots."

"I would not quit on the bamboo. I will never quit on you."

"Don’t compare yourself to others." He said.

"The bamboo had a different purpose than the fern.
Yet they both make the forest beautiful."

"Your time will come", God said to me.
"You will rise high".

"How high should I rise?" I asked.

"How high will the bamboo rise?" He asked in return.

"As high as it can?" I questioned.

"Yes." He said, "Give Me glory by rising as high as you can."

I left the forest and brought back this story.

Penang Asam Laksa

　　上个月去柔佛找若仪妹妹时，带了半行李的槟城美食，最难带的要数laksa了，其实要说难也不难，先把汤头冷冻，最好隔夜，再用保冷袋，几小时里其实是不会溶解的。不过看妹妹那么喜欢槟城laksa，嘉妈就让嘉嘉把这食谱写下，以后妹妹就可以自己煮了。

　　这槟城laksa嘛，要说难，其实不难，只是费工，因为材料很多，就配料而已，也要切上老半天。


材料：
汤头
（A）
水（water）  ...... 1.5 liter
甘榜鱼（mackerel） ...... 1kg

金风叶（polygonum leave） ...... 100g
香茅（lemongrass） ...... 2～3支（拍扁）

姜花 （ginger flower）...... 1支

黄姜 ...... 1小块
阿三片 （dried assam slices） ...... 10g

阿三膏 （assam jawa） ......  15g（加水取阿三膏汁）

香茅记得拍扁，才会出味。

（B）

葱头仔（shallots） ...... 200g
辣椒干（dried chili） ...... 5g

红辣椒（red chili） ...... 4－5 条

姜（ginger）...... 1块

马来煎（balacan） ...... 半块（大约7.5g）

辣椒干要稍微处理，用热水泡软，才能洗干净，再沥干。

将B的材料切小块，加入适量的水，用搅拌机打烂。

（C）调味料

糖  ...... 1～2 tbs

盐  ...... 1 tsp

面条
濑粉 ( laksa 面)  ......  1 包

配料

（A）

生菜 ...... 1颗 （切丝）
洋葱（onion）...... 1粒 （切丝）
黄梨（pineapple）...... 1块 （切丝）
黄瓜（cucumber）...... 1条（切丝）
红辣椒（red chili）...... 1条 （切丝）
姜花（ginger flower）...... 1支 ( 切丝）
薄荷叶（mint leaves）...... 适量

（B）

虾膏（shrimp paste）

加些热水在虾膏里，加点酱油，搅拌均匀。

 做法：

汤头

1）把1.5 liter 水放进锅里，煮沸。

2）甘榜鱼洗干净，放进锅里煮熟，把鱼捞起，取鱼肉，放一旁备用。

3）加入金风叶，香茅，姜花，黄姜和阿三片，再滚一次，让金风叶，香茅等出味。

4）加入汤头材料B，慢火熬大约30分钟。

5）把金风叶，香茅捞起，加入鱼肉，稍微煮一下，最后加入调味料C和阿三膏水即可。

面条

1）将濑粉洗干净，浸一下。

2）放进沸水煮至熟透。

3）将濑粉捞起，再浸入冷水里一会，捞起沥干即可。过冷河会使濑粉不会粘在一起，而且更Q弹。


完成
1）将适量的濑粉放在碗中，淋下热乎乎的拉沙汤，再将汤倒回锅，重复2～3次（让濑粉更入味）。
2）最后淋上拉沙汤，加入喜欢的配料和虾膏即可。

小贴士：
1）糖，盐和阿三膏水的份量自己看着办，喜欢酸就阿三膏水加多些。不要一次过加太多，先试试味道，再随喜好添加调味料。
2）濑粉嘉嘉是买EKA品牌的，有两种，细的和粗的，细的口感会比较好。也可以买新鲜的。

这是粗的面条。

细的面条。

3）虾膏是买钟金泉的，

4）马来煎没有什么特定的牌子，这个是块状的，贪它方便，也可以买粉状的。

其实laksa 汤，隔夜会更好吃，味道更浓，所以嘛，可以分两天煮，第一天煮汤头，第二天再准备配料，就不会切材料也切到疯掉咯。
