Nail strip

There are two items: the nail strip and a nail file

There is a transparent protective layer.

How to apply

The nail strip is really simple and easy to apply.

  1. Before you use the nail strip, make sure your nails are clean and dry.

  2. Remove the transparent protective layer and choose the correct strip size.

  3. Align and place the nail strip on to your nail. The round end should be facing the cuticle.

  4. Then, rub strip over the nail starting from center working it out towards the sides.

  5. Press the excess nail strip across the edges of the finger nail.

  6. Use a nail file to file off the excess strip in a downward motion.

  7. Rub striped nails again to move any excess bubbles.

Toe strip

The biggest strip is still a little bit smaller than my toe @@

Tips

Here are some tips on how to apply the nail strip.

  1.  Shape and file the nails

Trim the nails into the desired shape and length. Make sure your nails are a bit longer (at least 1-2mm) to apply the nail strip. If your nails are too short, it could be quite hard to file off nicely. The best shape is to match the shape of the nail beds: Round nail beds look good with rounded nails, and square nail beds look good with squared nails.

  2.  Push back the cuticles

Soak you fingers in warm water for 5-10 minutes. Take them out and gently dry them with a towel. Apply a small amount of moisturizer on your cuticles (Vaseline will do as well). Get an Orange Stick, gently push back your cuticles on each fingernail.

  3.  Clean the nails

Make sure your nails are clean and dry before you apply the nail strip. Use a bit of nail polish remover to clean your nails, even if there was no nail polish on them. This step removes dirt and oils that prevent the nail strips from sticking.

  4.    Preparing the nail strip

Choose the best strip size for each nail. If the nail strip is too big, use small scissors to trim the edge of the stripe to fit your nail.

  5.  Place the nail strip

Apply the nail strip from the bottom up. Place the nail strip on the center (near but not on the cuticle) and smooth from center out.

  6.  File off the excess nail strip

Position the file at vertical direction and downward motion to file off the strip gently. Do not do up and down motion as it may spoil the strip.

My thoughts

This is my first time trying out the nail strip. Believe me, it is really simple and easy to apply. In 15 minutes, i had both hand done!

The nail strip is perfect for lazy people like me (too lazy to go to the nail salon). It is also perfect for traveling. I do prefer nail strip over nail polish, no spillage risk.
